Brittany Caldwell

The portrayal of time is a deep theme in Brittany’s artwork, often marked by a representation of the Moon. Bold color and ethereal skyscapes begin the backdrop of her paintings. Brittany gives meaning and intensity offered by plants and wildlife that are painted in contrast to their space. 

To begin, Brittany approach’s each painting by saturating the paper with water and allowing the paint colors to flow as it leaves a permanent mark. As soon as the paper is dry, her eyes see what to do next.

Brittany feel the influence of vibrant flower petals, tree branches, and birds, especially vultures as an ongoing muse. These subjects exist as symbols of life, death, and rebirth as she brings them in harmony.
