Explore the art of linocut printmaking in this beginner-friendly workshop! In this single-session class, you'll learn the fundamentals of relief printmaking as you create and print your own one-color linocut design.
Students will be guided through each step of the process, including developing a simple image, transferring it to a linoleum block, safely using carving tools, inking the block, and pulling a small edition of hand-printed artworks. Along the way, you'll gain an understanding of the basic techniques and tools used in relief printmaking, making this a perfect introduction for anyone curious about the medium.
No previous printmaking experience is required. All materials are provided. Please bring a simple 8 × 10 black-and-white image that you created yourself or one that you have the legal right to reproduce. Wear comfortable clothing that can get a little inky.
What you'll learn:
Introduction to linocut printmaking and relief printing
Safe carving techniques and tool handling
Creating a strong black-and-white design
Inking and printing techniques
Pulling a small edition of one-color prints
Basic printmaking terminology and editioning
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your carved linoleum block, a small edition of your original one-color prints, and the skills and confidence to continue exploring linocut printmaking on your own.

Discover the art of printmaking using an unexpected material: recycled beverage cartons! In this two-part workshop at Grey Phoenix Art Studio, students will learn how to transform Tetra Pak packaging into unique printing plates and create beautiful, richly detailed prints.
Participants will explore drawing, mark-making, texture, and the fundamentals of intaglio printmaking while learning how to prepare, ink, and print their own designs using a printmaking press. This hands-on workshop combines sustainability and creativity, giving artists the opportunity to experiment with an accessible material and produce a collection of one-of-a-kind prints. Bring your own drawings to transfer onto the Tetra Pak or draw one on the spot!
If you’ve taken our Tetra Pak previously and just want to do more and use the press or if you are a first timer, this 2 part series is for you! This workshop is broken into 2 parts so there is time to make your carving and print and not feel rushed. If you have time, make more than one!

Join us at Grey Phoenix Art Studio for an engaging figure drawing workshop featuring a live nude model. This session is an opportunity for artists of all experience levels to practice drawing the human figure through observation, gesture, proportion, and line. No instruction for this workshop.
Working from a live model, artists will explore a variety of poses and have the opportunity to develop their skills in a relaxed, supportive studio environment. Whether you're an experienced artist looking to keep your skills sharp or you're new to figure drawing and want to try something different, everyone is welcome. 18+ years only.
Artists are encouraged to work in the medium of their choice. Bring your sketchbook and preferred drawing materials, or use materials provided by the studio. The studio will have lap boards to use and one table due to space.
All skill levels welcome.
Come draw, observe, experiment, and connect with other artists while working from the figure.

Step into a little world of vintage Christmas magic!
Join us for a festive, nostalgic workshop where you’ll create your very own Vintage Christmas Diorama—a charming miniature holiday scene filled with sparkle, whimsy, and old-fashioned Christmas character.
You’ll have an amazing assortment of vintage and holiday treasures to choose from, including Vintage Lady trinkets, teacup saucers, wooden platforms, mini bottle brush Christmas trees, tiny ornaments, beads, ribbons, sparkly bits, vintage jewelry, faux flowers, pinecones, and more. We’ll also have floral packing materials to create beautiful bases and plenty of wonderful little “odds and ends” to inspire your imagination.
There will be LOTS of stuff to choose from, and that’s half the fun! Each piece is unique, so you can mix, layer, embellish, and arrange your treasures to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas scene that reflects your own style.
No experience necessary!
